New Here with lots of questions

Hi everyone! I just joined because I am trying to lose weight and have no idea how. I'm 5'6'' and weigh 142, female age 20. I'm not fat but my whole life I've had a huge butt and thighs. I really can't stand them and want them gone! Here is a sum up of my week:

I waitress full-time
I go to the gym twice a week (don't have enough time to do more)
I ride horses 6 days a week

So I am pretty active. What I am trying to do now is eat the right amount of calories/fat/carbs/protein so that I can lose some weight. Here is what I've eaten in the last week.

Today I'm having an off day so you may disregard it. I would love to get feedback with what I've been doing every other day though. Before I started paying attention to all this I basically ate a lot of candy, sweets, lattes, soda and other junk. I'm sure my calorie intake was 2500 if not more and I couldn't imagine what my carb intake would be. I've been struggling with keeping my carbs below 270 and taking in as much protein as possible. I'm also trying to keep my fat level below 30 grams. I eat at 2-3 hour intervals.
What does everyone think? Am I taking in enough calories or too many? How about my fat level? I have to say that since I've started doing this I feel more flabby? Isn't that weird? Maybe because I'm taking in more water or something. At first I felt really lythargic but now I feel better although still not as energetic. However, I have been sleeping better at night since I started doing this.
Let me know what everyone thinks! I have weighed myself since I first changed my eating habits a week ago and I weigh 142 exactly, didn't lose or gain a thing (i know, it's only been a week) Anywho, help please!

Welcome lyra!

You seem to doing well with your diet. I'm not much of a nutrition guy but I'm sure others will eventually give you some feedback on it.

Hi Lyra,

I doubt you are overweight with the stats you posted therefore you may end up upseting your metabolism by trying to become something your not genetically cut out to be. You can't spot reduce, not even butt and thighs .

The good news is that adding a regular strength training and cardio routine to your life will do wonders for you regardless of your shape.

There are tons of ideas here for that!
