Hi. Basically I'm a total fitness
newbie. Never dieted, never exercised, never had a problem. Until I turned 30. Now I just keep getting bigger and everything (like walking, taking stairs, etc) seems harder. It's annoying to say the least. So hoping that reading through these threads will give me some insight into what I need to change.
I'm a big believer in achieving
goals by telling people about your goals. I'm a big procrastinator at first, so being accountable to someone else helps. It's how I'm getting through university, my family and friends are BIG motivators. And then once I'm into it and its a habit, I'm all good.
My goals:
1) Per my Dr, lose weight. No set weight goal, don't know what's healthy. Will make this more specific once I read more posts.
2) Make it halfway up the Koko Head steps. These are steep wood/dirt steps that lead up a crater here on Oahu. Last time I went, I got up a quarter of the way and thought I was going to chuck up. Next time I'll make it halfway.
3) Stop de-motivating my husband. Before me, he rock climbed, walked everywhere, biked, etc. He's a New Zealander and he LOVES outdoorsy stuff. Now, um, yeah, completely sabotaged him. He's recently joined a gym and is walking up 27 flights of stairs on his breaks at work. So I want to support and join him in this.
Wish me luck.
