New format for new posts tracking...

I have changed a setting that is available because we are on the latest version of the forum software. What this will do is manage everyones 'new post' feature. This has now been moved from cookie based management to our database. This will add a little overhead to the server but should provide you a much better view of what is new. It might take 24-48 hours for the system to hash things out.

Your patience during all these upgrades is greatly appreciated.

Just noticed the 'new post' links now take me all the way to the first page. I assume this is part of the conversion to the upgraded system?

I don't get it. When I click on the link from my e-mail notification, I go to a page way back from the newest post. Do I need to change a setting or will this take care of itself in a few days?

Thumbs up

In the past, I was able to print a whole thread in "printerly friendly view". Now it's just one page per thread. Can I get that option back :

When I hit new posts after replying, the threads do not show up under new posts. Is this because my reply needs to be approved first ?? If so, that sucks.

i think it's because you've already read the thread and your own reply wouldn't count as an "unread" one, since you're the one that made it.

I am losing the new posts I contribute and answer to. My 2 cents is that it is annoying. I use the new post feature to save me time and losing track of what I've written is not helping any. I end up just leaving DF and moving on to do something else.

That's weird. I would just hit new posts again and be back to the list. The problem is my name would disappear and so would the thread title ?!?

Hopefully andy will find an intuitive solution. I've liked the majority of the changes so far.

I hope you are not referring to the new post links in the emails? Mine has been working perfectly, don't change it/make it not work right!

That's what I was trying to say, but you articulated it better.:
