Fact: Gun laws effect the people that obey the laws.

Fact: It's better to have a gun and not need it, than need it and not have one.

Fact: I own guns because I like them, and because I can.

Fact: I have never been in such staunch agreement with Welch or Gooseneck

Somebody asked me at work today why I have guns and I said because I like them. I like them first, protection second. Many people use the "for protection" statement as an excuse to have a gun when in reality they just like them. I'm going to be getting a little UltraLight 38 SPL as a carry gun pretty soon, though I dont plan to carry all the time.

I can hold my own if a physical confrontation was to occur, but its nice to know I DO have a gun if someone was to approach with a deadly weapon, including knives, batons, bats, etc.

I prefer to own a pair of nun-chukas. You'll never get a bullet passed those!

Seriously though, I don't own any guns. I have several Chinese Stars through parts of the house ready to be gripped at a moment's notice.

No really though. I don't have any guns but I am looking to get myself one 'just in case'. As it was stated earlier, it is my right to bear arms and I think it is better to have protection on hand just in case rather than not have protection when you need it (sounds like Andy's whoring around days).

I wouldn't go as far to say that i like guns. I have a great respect for guns but I think if every household had them, there'd be lower crime (burglary, kidnappnig in the middle of the night, etc). I mean, if criminals felt they were more likely to get killed, I think you'd have less criminals. Just my POV.

That's a very personal decision which requires a great deal of thought. One I happen to agree with, however make sure that when you get one, you don't just put it into a drawer until it's needed. Spend time at the range, spend time training, get proper training from a qualified instructor. Including some stressfire training. Or else, you just have a useless chunk of metal if and (hopefully never) when it is needed.

You don't want to become a statistic for the anti-freedom forces who want to say, "you'll shoot yourself or get it taken away from you."

and people who obey the laws don't carry if carring is illegal, however there WILL be crazies who have no buisness carring only to do something bad with a gun no matter if guns are legal or not, and thats why I feel anyone should have a right to barearms.

I don't like guns, and I have no interest in them, in fact I've held several unloaded firearms before and they just made me nervous, I don't want to spend time training with one, so as for at least the next few years or so of my life I choose not to get one.

I suppose I should add we have a sweet collection of our own since we've both been shooting for years. But moving to MA we've been forced beyond our wishes to have to give up a few of them. MA is pretty tightly-crimped around the anal region when it comes to citizens and gun ownership.....our pistols, rifles, shotguns.... Mostly their issue is with pistols because we both have permits to carry concealed, so that threw 2 of mine out the window (so to speak).

Thats your prerogative, however most non gun enthusiasts have a negative view of people who do own guns, and that is simply not fair. The most down to earth, logically thinking people that i've met have been gun owners. Theres a sense of discipline that is commonly shared among owners.

And one thing to keep in mind is no one is trying to "convert" people here to be pro-gun. Rather, there are some of us who do own and shoot guns who enjoy engaging in conversations with others who share this similarity.

Out of curiosity, are low ends always used for skeet?

I'm not brushed up on skeet, so bear with me.

now that i think about it, if I tried it, I just may like it!

however I'm one to get bored fast, even with things I like, I'll get into the first 2games of pool, then absolutly get bored no matter if I'm winning or not, and I really have no desire to play pool, but I'll really get into the first couple games.
