I guess I'm a little slow tonight (or all the time for that matter). I don't get it.

He has his own time clock and it doesn't match our time zone. He just "knows" when it's 3:30am and decides, "Hmmm, now's a good time to wake the broad up for some chow,.....she looks so peaceful sleeping,....let's jump on her face, scratch her ears (or any exposed flesh,....and I DO mean ANY), and pounce around."
Unless he travels by astral projection in the middle of the night to another country, the little demon spawn really should realize breakfast is not at 3:30am.

lol. thats the one thing I hate about cats!
I used to own a cat that would wonder around the house every night all night and act like it was hunting, then come morning he would peacfully sleep off the day.
he became an out side cat rather quickly. I don't know if the suits your situation though.

Not an option,....as much of a little cockroach he can be, I love the little bugger to death, and would hate to see him hit by a car.
The idea of throttling the sucker is pure fantasy, mind you,...like right now while I'm typing he is clawing at my hands as I type, "patting" my face or shoulders with his paws (read: CLAWS),....or he'll walk across my lap and accidentally on purpose pierce my flesh with his fang (singular: He lost one when my dog attacked him for trying to chow down on the food in the dog's dish).
I'm getting fanged or clawed at,....can you imagine the atrocity?

He's just showing some love. Fangs and claws aren't all bad.

Ok, so get a cat kennel for night time and find your fangs and claws elsewhere.

He might well spend the whole night meowing, thus keeping you awake.
My crew gets hyper at bedtime, but luckily, they settle down for cuddles pretty quickly.

Haha, cuddles.
Guess who I spent the night with last night? That's right, my buddy from the other animal thread. I finally gave up on keeping him in his cage. He curled up against my left side and didn't move the rest of the night.

Hey, rats can want cuddles too. I'm enjoying the visuals I'm getting of a rat snuggling up to you,.....I'm glad to see you've given in to this affection. Sometimes you just have to just give in,....
Besides, short of whacking the little sucker, cuddling is a much nicer approach.
Sleep easy,.....
