Getting my long hair cut in 2 hours -- having a panic attack.

I currently have long blonde hair,... (as in, I can tuck it into my belt).

I have an appointment in 2 hours for a snip & clip -- moyels need not apply. (Nervous reactions peering through the veneer that shored me up when I made the appointment).

This is weird. I'm too old, aren't I? To be getting a panic attack now at getting my hair cut? I'm doing the square breathing (which I teach my tightly wound clients, because it works),...a BIG-ASS CUP of chamomile herbal tea.....and I find myself repeatedly stroking my hair (like,...before you say goodbye and all that).

Just need a little reassurance here,....

How much are you getting cut off? I am sure reguardless it will look great! If you get 10" or better cut off you could donate it to the cancer socitiy so they can make wigs for cancer patience out of your hair.

In my opinion there are VERY VERY VERY few women that look good with short hair. I hope you aren't getting it cut butch short. That's asinine in my humble opinion.

Anything above the shoulders should be outlawed!

I wasn't sure what the length limit was with regards to donating it for wig making. But I could easily cut 10" off. I'm short, remember, so hair that goes below my belt line on me, is different than hair that goes to the belt of someone who is 5'10".

It's so funny orky, but I feel like I'm on a count down, not quite sure just how much I'll actually commit to once I'm in the chair. Hmm,....do I go drastic? Do I go subtle? What a weird thing to feel anxious about, eh? I mean, it grows back. (Even though it took ages to grow my hair this long!)

I totally agree. I don't like very short hair on women. I think there ARE some women (few in number,...Demi Moore is one off the top of my head) who CAN wear short hair and make it looks sweet, attractive, nice.

But for the most part, I'm definitely in your camp, and there's no way I'd ever get my hair cut that short. One qualification, even with a hair cut, is that I have to retain the ability to wear my hair up. (A lot of that has to do with my work too,...I bend over and the last thing I need is getting my hair caught in weight plates or gears, etc.). So NOPE, no butch cut for this gal.

I think Demi Moore is gorgeous but not with short hair like in Ghost. I also love older women with dark hair so i'm a little bias on the Demi being gorgeous part.

I like gray hair on older women, with a nice cut and comb of course. I see beauty in that rather than all these fake colors that exist.

I had a friend that I grew up with that never had a haircut his entire life. When I met him and asked him why he never cut it he said he thinks he would have a seizure if he ever did cut it. He always wore his hair in corn rows to make it look better. When we graduated high school he decided to go to the Marines. Why am I telling you all this? Well because he had to get his hair buzzed and he made it out alive so I think you'll be ok! Remember, it will always grow back.

I just got back, and had half a foot lopped off. So now my hair reaches the middle of my back.

(sniffle)

I miss it.

But hey, it still qualifies as long, definitely my preference.

(Two hours to cut long hair,...yet a guy walks into a barber shop and is in and out in 15 minutes,....usually for under $35 bucks.....how is that!?)

.

EDIT: Men don't get panic attacks when they get their hair cut, do they?

Yeah me too, definitely. (I think that's why I get anxious around the hair cut time because I really like long hair).
