Girl pant RANT

So today I decided since I lost enough weight for my work pants to become saggy it was time to travel to the mall and ...DUN..DUN ...DUN.. try on some new pants (I hate this with a passion)

the thing is this: I do not mind that my thick thighs from working out do not allow me to fit in a size 3, oh hell no, it's the fact that in one store their are an __ number of different pant brand names and I was trying them all on and come to find out that 2 different pants from two different companies that said they were the same size when comepared to each other in the waist one is like an inch longer than the other!!!

Why is it that they can't make girls and women jeans/pants like they do with mens' jeans/pants and base it all on waist size!!!?!?!?!

does anyone know a company that does this??!?!

Well women come in a lot more "varieties of waist to hip ratio" than men do for one thing. Vanity sizing is another. Mature lady style clothing is getting smaller sizes on the tags all the time.

Just go with the pants you like the look of and cut the tags off when you get home. (I'm still waiting for the day that my thigh size limits my choice choice of pants.)

That is why I HATE shopping. Womens clothes are never the same size at different stores. You HAVE to try the pants on or chances are you'll be returning them!

sweetdream, you've got my support on this 100%. Why do they do this? Just make them with the measurements of waist x inseam and be done with it.

Try buying for an 11 year old girl who hates trying on clothes. Sending her into the dressing room alone to try stuff on is a real adventure. Mostly because when we get home...nothing fits.

They do that with men's pants too. I just went shopping for some new clothes and I had to try on a ton of clothes because of all of the different fits or brands. Like, the waist would be perfect, but the hip area was too small. So in some cases i had to settle for the bigger waist size, to allow my lets and butt to fit properly into the jeans, or whatever.

It sucks. I hate shopping for clothes too (although more enjoyable these days considering I can fit into stuff now that is sold in most department stores as opposed to having to go to a big and tall store, or the "big men's" sections.

I hate that regardless of what size pants I buy, there's always that little gap in the back at the waist,.....(sigh). It makes me feel like a plumber....

A heterosexual male probably requested that be kept in . I know I'd vote for it.

There's really nothing that gets me going more than seeing a thong peaking out in that area when a lady is bent over. It drives me wild. K, nuff bout dat. You were saying?

well glad to know there is consensus on this topic! I love shopping for tops, tees tank tops, shirts, sweathers but when it comes to the bottom half by the time I try on 2 pairs of pants I am so frustrated and just want to leave!!!!! So recently I have been wearing my non-flattering-saggy-pre-weight-loss-jeans and I do not feel good in them because it does not compliment me at all but would rather wear them instead of being forced to shop for pants at the mall!! lol

.v. that's gotta be frustrating!!!!

Hey Sweet, I'm totally with you on this topic. I went out the other week for some new clothes......where I went had an 8-item limit and I had to make THREE trips (my arms racked with 8 pairs of pants a go),....because I'd have to try on 3 different sizes, or different brands,...it's weird how they're so inconsistent.

The best place for jeans I've found though is the Gap. They're one of the few places where I love the quality of their denim (I like the thin, worn out look & feel) and I don't get the gap at my hiney.

But regular pants, sheesh what a nightmare. You're right though,...guys just go to the rack, look up their size, and it's like whammo, no need to try them on, because they know they'll fit.

It's an infair society, this whole pants thing! It's a conspiracy against the waist to hip ratio of females!

I'm kind of with Dave on this too.

I like the waist to hip ratio of females. Especially fit ones who actually work out.
