how conscious are you about the chemicals you injest?

How many of us are conscious about the chemicals we use on a daily basis? I am sorta, and here's a few

*toothpaste, recently started using fluoride free toothpaste, doesn't feel as clean as colgate total, LOL, I still use that once a day and make sure rinse well and use a small amount

*deodarant, anti-perspirant, gonna start using natural again, but need the heavy stuff at work cause I sweat a lot, at home I try not to use any at all

*air freshners, I stay away, especially in the car, that's like POISON yore injesting over and over

*lotions, try not to use them really, but I don't think they are that bad

*stay away from MSG, however a chinese restuarant I buy a 'vegetable delight* (LOVELLLLY tofu. Brocolli, crazzzzy veggies, soy sauce I guess, lightly cooked and fresh) I tell them NO MSG but a girl that works there tells me they still use it, I COULD TELL as it tastes sooooo good, lol

Anything else anyone like to add?

I always look out for the additives ie crap in my foods but unless you rear and grow yr own yr sort of at the mercy of the producers.
Even free range and organic are not as true to the word as there are gaps in the law that allow fail play but still claim to be free range etc, But yes i am as careful as poss

I pay no attention.

By the way, if you drink any water, you're probably drinking fluoride. Just thought I'd ruin your day. lol

I don't really follow it too much. The big reason is that I eat a lot of simple food. I wanted to do a little experiment to see what it is like being gluten free and found out I only ate two small pieces of food that actually had it and it really wouldn't take much effort to try.

agree exactly on toothpaste, air fresheners, msg

deodorant i am a little skeptical. I actually found a really good one. Its called toms natural...sell it at trader joes. Instead of stopping the sweat its a natural hops that fights the odor bacteria itself. No metals and crap in it

Lotions if you find a brand you trust cool. I swear by it before i workout and pump up to make sure i do not get stretch marks.

i am more scared about the chemicals in our food....

So many of those salts and natural deodorants just don't seem to work. I would think, (but don't know for sure) ANY "deodorant" is okay. It's when it comes down to the "antiperspirant" that we risk trouble.

A deal breaker for me is artificial sweeteners. I won't go there, even with the enticements of not raising my blood sugar. Those things are downright nasty and I get all sorts of ills from them.

To those who are hyper aware, do some research on fabric softener and dryer sheets. You're bound to find some interesting, and very scary information about their dangers. I still use TIDE because my clothes get super clean, and I still use bleach, (but never ammonia)...and for clothes, I use BORAX....all natural booster so you need less detergent. Borax for hand soap too.

MOST things with any sort of perfume are a no-no to me. I find it makes me sick, I can't breathe, I get headaches,...any fragrance on men or women, other than the smell of "clean."

As for dogs and horses, however, I can handle all of their odours and come out grinning on the other side!

i read too that artificial sweeteners can be stored in your liver and never leave your body...just building up...your liver thinks it is a toxin. Hell it might even be one. Either way people have been found with months of build up from certain ones.

Also no longterm studies have been done...so in 20 years who knows what really happens to you.

The dryer sheets and softeners scare me now lol
