My first car

This was my first car, a 1963 Pontiac Grand Prix:

Mine was also red with a white vinyl top but the inside of my car looked nicer than this one.

I bought it in late 1970 when I was almost 16 years old and paid $475 for it. It was the car I used to take my driver test at 8:00 a.m. in the morning on my 16th birthday.

Lot's of memories with this car. This car used premium or Ethyl as it was called in those day. During a gas war (a term not used anymore), gasoline would drop to as low as 29 cents a gallon. I got about 8-9 miles to the gallon.

As a vintage car restorer i adore old usa cars, they have class looks power.
My 1st car was a mk1 ford cortina 1200cc 0-60 in a week more rust than paint.
We in uk cant drive until 17yrs old, so my 2nd car was a Jaguar 4.2 xj.
I could afford the car but not the insurance so i went to jail at 18yrs old for 4 months.
Pierini you just hit my hornet nest of memories, A BIG thank you Mr
And as i bonus i paid £40 ($80) for it

Here is what my second car looked like, except mine was red, a 1960 Buick LeSabre.

I traded the 1963 Pontiac Grand Prix straight across for the LeSabre. I could parallel park this monster in the smallest parking space downtown. I was a master.

my first was a lincoln marc-VII ... 1986 I believe... Idoled at 35 mph lol, spilled alot of oil, both head gaskets needed replaced, so you can imagine the block and the exhaust smoked like a 4th of july BBQ... it leaked antifreeze real bad too and overheated all the time, prolly had something to do with the high idoling... but the interior was nice, all power everything, all digital everything, all leather interior, I had my best friends custom made box with 2, 15"subwoofers (Indoor Audio Speakers haha!) and 2 crappy 800 see through amps, and my 450 dollar sony explode detatchable face CD player my stepdad bought me for my Bday.... no joke, tht car was a Piece...

One day In the winter I was parked on a patch of ice, and I put it into drive, and kinda neglected the brake... well you can guess what happened... I destroyed her... Ive learned alot about cars since.
