My Rant Considering Today's Political Climate
Day in and day out we Americans live in a trance. We find threats, surley, but focus on the wrong ones. In these times when wars of vague proportions are fought, we find ourselves complacent with fighting intangible nouns, starting unwinnable wars, and seeking unattainable futures.
Terror, Immigration, Drugs – you name it, we fight it and it costs trillions to fight what we can not see. Now - you may think your vote doesn’t count, that the events surrounding you really don’t matter. But think for a moment… Who pays the bill for these unsupported policies that CURB our liberties? YOU pay them…through taxation! And if they’re unsupported, who is supporting them? YOU do through your own political neglect!
Today we spit on our Founding Fathers. Today we think our lives and freedoms are in peril because of some outside force; some invisible noun that evokes images of scary Islamic radicals, South American drug lords, Chinese nukes, and Osama bin Ladens.
We’re in a trance simply because we fear these things. We face a government more hazardous to our liberty than the dangers it claims to protect us from. As we fight these nouns – terror, immigration, drugs – we lose our rights and grant government more powers that the founding fathers consciously sought to protect us from.
IN THE NAME OF THE DESTRUCTION OF TERROR, we jail men who cannot question their unlawful detention, thus denying them habeas corpus. We let government, without warrant, listen in on phone calls, e-mails, and AIM conversations. We let them tap internet connections, see bills and track us – all to makes us feel safe. “We’re only targeting the bad guy,” they say so surely. Yes, the bad guy you can’t touch. Perhaps now they target the ‘bad guy,’ but when will the war against pedophilia, rape, racism, and religious intolerance begin? In the name of whichever new witch hunt, government will use the same tactics we gave it so complacently.
IN THE NAME OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, we propose ideas of a National ID or Real ID Card which has to be on you at all times to prove the legality of your citizenship. Is this Nazi Germany? Must I show the ticket salesman by papers to watch a movie?
Sure it may be a ‘minor nuisance’ but it’s a nuisance I’m not willing government to put me through. If we become complacent with this ID situation and let government fight its intangible wars and witch hunts, the ID may as well contain an RFID strip to track our every location... These RFID strips are very similar to ones already contained in our newly released passports.
Illegal immigration is also being fought in a lax manner due to collective internationalists in our government (mostly neo-cons) who want to create a North American economy – a UNITED N. AMERICA or N. AMERICAN UNION, with an all new constitution, new currency (the Amero), with all new borders (aka – NONE). Scratch out the bill of rights, encourage mass immigration, throw away our life and liberties – all for what? A global economy? We ARE spitting on our founding fathers.
IN THE NAME OF DRUGS, we fill our jails with minor ‘felons’ and pay their unneeded stay through taxation. We, the world’s largest consumer of drugs, also keep the drug lords healthy, paid, and happy. By keeping these people happy, we encourage anti-American left-wing movements in South America, who armed with an communist or anarchist sentiment, destroy their own people’s rights of life, freedom, and property.
Now what should we do?
IN THE NAME OF LIBERTY, we should encourage smaller government. Therefore today, we have become the inheritors of the American legacy.
We face a huge peril, not these things – terror, immigration, or drugs (which are products of our own irresponsible bloated government). The peril we face is simply our own neglect and political ignornace....coupled with our tolerance of a bureaucratic, fattened, and wasteful government.
This is not a partisan issue. It is not a matter of Republicans or Democrats. We grant too many powers to the executive branch while the Democratically run congress does nothing significant. It is irresponsible leadership across the board that sends us to our current downward spiral.
I read of a time before Woodrow Wilson and Teddy Roosevelt; a time when America was but a beautiful idea that many were willing to FIGHT and DIE for. Our America of the 19th century was LIBERTY.
Get off your couch people – this is your country!
Forget what should WE do? What should YOU do?
Battle your own ignorance.
Form a better opinion.
Vote – your democracy can only stay democratic if we ACT in our system.
************************************************** **
If you want us to be free, I highly suggest you check out Presidential candidate Ron Paul and his views.
Ron Paul 2008 — Hope for America

Our generation should be generation of liberty.
We are the sons of Liberty.
We are the daughters of Liberty.
The time is now.
QUICK DISCLAIMER:
I do view Terrorism as a threat but I believe if people and leadership itself had a better understanding of our past politics and policies in the Middle East (which directly influenced such horrid actions as 9/11); we’d be a whole lot safer. I also believe it can also fought in a different matter. If you’re at all interested, ask .
Whenever I'm in the mood I'll be posting random political rants. Next will be on the Federal Reserve, Social Security, and possilby Cold War.
I'm no illogical hippy. I'm young but I spend SO much of my time studying foreign policy, history and such.

Or France? Or Switzerland? Or Denmark? Or Belgium? Or Sweden? Finland! Or Finland? Or Luxembourg? I'm not arguing the point, but let's use more current examples of terrible places with National ID Cards.

Ah nice A Ron Paul supporter, I have heard some good stuff from his speeches. To bad the media is shoving him out of the spot lite so no one will know who he is. When he won that one debate, I did not hear any media coverage about it.

I feel the desire to rip your rant to shreds like a a highly motivated pit bull eyballing a defensless child, but am wee bit short of time. " unwinable wars, unattanaible futures, fighting what we cannot see, invisible nouns, and "Minor felons", what the hell is a minor felon? I do agree with you on immigration, well not exactly you but whomever you pilfered your speech from. But alas, another time.

Yes - totally stolen and posted on a sports forum. Indeed KayakJones. Well your dreams MAY come true - print it out and rip it apart.
But there is not much you can tear apart. A minor felon is one who was caught with 'drugs.' And these are my ideas on immigration. So please - be rational and perhaps "intelligent" and maybe we'll get far.
Give opinions, not insults -- you'll seem better than a highly motivated pit bull.
Unwinnable wars, unattainable futures -- yes, internationalists want these things. They want success in the East, they want War with Iran...but these people are amnesiatic, they forget history as it passes. They don't remember what we did in 1953 to Muhammad Mossadeq (just when Iran had hopes of becoming a democracy)...yet they put Iran today (an Islamic theocracy that overthrew our henious ultraright winged monarchy) in the 'axis of evil' and disregard reasons their fair reasons of hatred....they just remember "those bastards took our embassy."
As for Israel, we seek unattainable future with them as well. We forget, once again, Britain’s unfair reign of lies over the land post fall of Turkey WWI...just as we forgot Iraq's history after that as well. Britain helped start a revolt of Arabs to overthrow Turkish Empire in Palestine, promising Arabs independence. (PS - If you dont like to read watch LAWRENCE OF ARABIA)
Well, they had secret meeting with France on how they would divide the empire (Russia was left out, they just had their revolution and lost all ties to war gains)....this meeting was called Sykes-Picot Agreement (look it up, its everywhere, I'm not making things up...) and it caused a massive quagmire. Sharif of Mecca Feisal did know of it, but he saw his people getting nothing...so he settled for less Damascus, Syria. Then shortly before or after that we have the Balfour Declaration which established Britain’s interest in creating a homeland for Jews in the VERY SAME LAND they promised independence to Arabs who fought for their land.
Oh and Iraq, well, as we now know, Feisal never became leader of his Palestinian land... So when revolting in the region of Iraq became too much for Britian to handle, they instilled him as puppet King of the land... Saddam's people would later overthrow his pro-British 'monarchy' for being THAT...'pro British.' And I hope you know the rest of Iraqi history....you know them fighting Iran and Kuwait. Us backing them for Iran, scolding for Kuwait?
Oh and the very same Zionists who lobbied for a state and mentioned in the Balfour declaration...are very same "Zionists" who made groups called Irgun (look it up yourself, youre a smart man?)... You know Irgun...who, angered after Britain limited Jewish immigration to control inner Arab strife...dressed as Arabs, bombed the King David Hotel, killing Jewish, British, and Arabs???? Founders of such groups would form the regime of Israel today.....you know the groups who instill hatred by neglecting to recognize groups like Hamas and Hezbollah... I think they have forgotten they’re roots too...I'm afraid.
Yes. Our wars and goals are at times unattainable and unwinnable because we have provoked this massive sense of revenge and hatred by supporting these regimes.
The collective growth of this hatred and sense of revenge shows itself in the form of horrible events like 9-11...that kills not the policy makers of a bloated, econoimcally and politicall irresponsible bureacracy, but us innoncent folks who are out working...
Foreign policy CAN be fixed but now is when it is least difficult.
Thank you. You can tear rants apart, but not true historical ironies...and that is what I have presented for you here.

And please, Kayak, if you think we're not losing our rights....one by one. Youre mistaken.
Taxation -- way too much and Income tax was considered unconstitutional when it was first proposed. Ironic as it is: someone who didnt pay his taxes won a case against the IRS on the grounds that they can only tax business PROFITS (like in the great state of NH) -- and labor exchanged for currency is not business PROFIT.
Gun laws -- my 2nd amendment rights. Totally unfair and IMO 9-11...Virgina Shooting, Colombine, alllllll couldve been avoided if gun laws were less strict.
Remember criminals commit crimes, not regular folks...and they'll do it wether guns are legal or not.
And you agreed (thankfully) on what "I" said, (yes I wrote it, how crude of you to say it was 'stolen') concerning Real ID cards and such.
There is much more... like Patriot act and such... and internet laws....and how govt. but I also have to leave to a debate.
Take it easy.

its sad that the people of this country actually accept and even support all this government control, regulation, and manipulation, despite its awful track record and rate of success. i say save your money. don't vote to let the government take it from you and use it against you. but the problem is that a lot of people are easily manipulated and come to believe that we need what the government offers.

None of it was stolen.
All of it was written by me and it is not a speech, oh bright KayakJones.
If it were someone else's work I would CITE it as such. I have respect for other authors. I wrote this.
Stop with the baseless accusations...if you want refute or agree on something, just say a FACT or perhaps more. You may impress me...or god forbid, someone else with your level of maturity.
And once again (for good measure), you don't seem to understand things. -I wrote this.- They are my ideas. It's on my Facebook as well, with my name on it.
Thanks for the mature input Maurer.

All of it was written by me Kayak, what part do you not understand...?
Once again, you're just a troll, out to refute (using no facts) just insults and lies.
And more time, for good measure: this is mine.
Good luck.

That was CLEARLY sarcasm Kayak.
CLEARY.
And I'm CONSERVATIVE - with Libertarian swing. I'm on the TOP right of the poltical spectrum and I'm a registered republican.
You get your facts straight. My sarcasm was evident as "WHO WOULD STEAL FOR A SPORTS FORUM?!" Next time, for those without nimble sense, I'll make it clearer by typing "SARCASM" in plain view --- perhaps that way you'll catch it.
You made no point or stated anything worth substance. In fact, youre quite childish and I hope youre younger than me.
Do something mature or leave, this whole topic has become tiresome because your blatherings.
