Off topic -- time for literature and screenplays

Is anyone here famililar with Robin Cook.

For some think back to Coma, the movie.

For those who do enjoy medical mysteries blended with horror to a degree you may recognize additional titles.

Before I continue, does any read any of his writings.

He caters more to those with a strong medical background who don't have to look up medical terms, and he writes very realistic, and scary, novels.

I've read a few of his books, but it was a long time ago. I intend to get some more audiobooks from audible once I'm done listening to The Twilight Zone Radio Dramas, which I'm currently hooked on. I did like Robin Cook a lot when I read him though, way back in high school.

Funny story, my mother is a big fan of his. She walked into a bookstore and asked if they had any Robin Cook books. The clerk looked confused and asked her to repeat. Still looking confused, the clerk said "I don't know ma'am, but the cookbooks are over there."

He and I have been friends for over 15 years and we're meeting in Boston. I heard from him day before yesterday and I'm so excited I can't contain myself. My Mom turned me on to him because we both have medical backgrounds (EMTI, PA, ER triage and intern) and so I simply adore medical mystery. He's great because, practising in Boston he writes his books based out of Boston Hospitals. (Which can be either creepy or reassuring either way).

One of three homes, and I'm beside myself with exhuberance. Someone has had to calm me down and tie me down like a balloon.

Hey, he was also there when I was pre-med urging me through, and....it would probably be like one of you guys meeting Arnold. It's just a really cool thing that you never think is going to happen to you. La la la la la.
