Snopes.com didn't have it. This is the closest urban legend I could find.

The best way to get a tan is the natural way, go down to the beach and do some body boarding and have fun while tanning or if you hate the water just sit on your towel and get blazed

I read recently that tanning beds increase your risks of skin cancer. Be happy with what God gave you.

yes, tanning beds increase your risk of skin cancer. So does the real sun. Tanning, in the sun or in a bed is not good for your skin....

that being said, a tan looks so darn good!

ihaveadog, will you get a grip : stop worrying about all the things that might 'shrink' your muscles and just keep lifting and eating right. you are on the right track, you look great, just relax and enjoy the ride

If you don't burn, you can go every day. If you do burn, you cannot. Once a week is not enough. It will not shrink your muscles. It will ease the pain of achey joints and sore muscles. The tanning bed is this old guy's salvation.

Skin cancer - yeah, a real risk there, just like from the real sun. Use at your own discretion and risk.

Another warning, did you watch "Final Destination 3?" Watch this before tanning. Then put some thought into it.

It won't make your muscles shrink, however, as others have mentioned it does increase your risk of skin cancer, just like the real sun. Also, just like the real sun, it causes you to look like shoe leather by the time you're 40.

I have never tanned and never will. I'll be pale and uncool at 25, but at 40, I'll be the envy of all those women that tanned.

I was the same way, not a girl, but not interested in tanning either. Now at 37 and too old to care, I'm totally enjoying the pain relief in my joints and sore muscles. Two visits so far, one to follow after every workout until warm weather comes.
