In a sanctioned MMA event. State your case.

Rambo had a knife and could take on a whole army. Rocky could barely beat one man in a ring. LOL

Rocky is a puncher turned boxer. Tremendous heart but not trained with the combat techniques as Rambo. The only chance he would have would be in a boxing ring, with boxing gloves and boxing rules. Even then he would only win by disqualification when Rambo went first blood on his ass!
All other scenarios Rambo hands Rocky a painful death.

Let's assume for the sake of lively discussion that the competition would be a sanctioned MMA event, so all appropriate rules apply. Rambo's weapons and lethal hand combat training is rendered illegal. Now we saw in the stick fighting scene that Rambo is certainly not flawless in hand to hand combat, and if nothing else, you must give the "chin" advantage to the Italian Stallion.
I think the chin, heavy hands, conditioning, and boxing of Balboa would see this as a (T)KO late in the 2nd round. I would, however, take an outside odds bet of Rambo by rear naked choke (seems an easy transition from breaking someone's neck) in the first.

But as we all know stand up fighters have no chance in MMA if they are not at least somewhat trained in ground techniques. The only thing we know about Rocky's ground game is those couple fancy little moves he put on Tommy Gunn at the end of Rocky 5. Rambo however, is skilled in all forms of hand-to-hand combat.

No definatly Rocky.
Rocky is a streetfighter. Fighting in a ring with gloves puts him at a disadvantage but he is so good he still wins.
As stated he showed some moves in Rocky 5 to defeat the heavyweight champ. This was an old Rocky a guy who had not been training and he still kicked him around. Sure Rocky prac took out Hulk Hogn in an earlier film.
No question if Rocky focuses will have Rambo out in first round.

I'd just be interested in seeing him fight himself.

Does Rambo have a weapon or not? I think Rambo would beat Rocky down but Rocky would take the beating by playing possum and let Rambo wear himself out. Once Rambo starts to tire of beating Rocky's brains in, Rocky comes back and knocks him out.
btw, I'm pretty excited about the new Rambo that's coming out. The trailer for it is sick!

Somehow an old soldier going back into battle is less exciting to me than an old punch drunk boxer going back into the ring.
Having said that, I'll still go see it.

You excude the athelete in your personality Dan ( or however one chooses to lable it ) to such an extent that its not suprising you connect to the punch drunk boxer making a come back.
Getting excited about the old soldier going back to battle would require a warrior in the personality. Not saying you don't have the warrior but not near the extent to which you have the "athelete"
I can't be the only one that makes this connection--
remarkable really
As a matter of fact you "rage" the athelete in you writings. I really cant use the word "rage" to describe another personality on this forum ( and there are many )
No secret to who you are
Great stuff-at least IMO
Dan

Can you elaborate on that post? I think I know what you mean, but I'm not sure.
Did you mean I "exclude" the athlete? Or "exude" the athlete?
Where does "rage" come into the picture?

Sorry Dan—I should have paid more attention to what I wrote.
Out of all the personalities” or “archetypes”, or however one chooses to refer to an individual’s “energy” conveyed in their posts—IMO, the “athlete” in yours is huge.
Yes, you “exude’ the athlete in your writings. It’s not about the words written, but rather the energy behind the words. By “rage” I meant everything about you says “athlete”--you are a raging athlete. Surly I can’t be the only one that has told you that!
What was so remarkable about the post I referred to was that just a few weeks ago I told my wife that the “athlete” in your energy was by far stronger than any other energy on this forum. Although not the “athlete”, IMO other’s individual archetypes show up in their writings but not to the extent the athlete shows up in yours.
That is why I thought is was so interesting what you said about being more excited about seeing the punch drunk boxer go back to the ring as opposed to the old soldier going back to battle. Not a coincidence!
Dan

That is interesting. And thank you for the roundabout compliment.
What you've pointed out is actually very meaningful to me right now as I've been studying the "law of attraction" recently. Your post kinda pre-confirms the results of some experiments I'm doing right now.
I agree, it is no coincidence.

haha, they both are strong but if rambo didn't have a machine gun or his rambo knife ofcourse rocky would win. Yeah rocky is an old frame but his arms are still huge from the drugs his pumping into them thesedays
haha, rocky would have trouble hitting him but after planting one he'd def win it in the first round if he made contact haha.
