Truly Embarassed

I spotted them hanging at the back of the shop. That was some relief away from the majority of people but still not secluded enough.
There was 3 people in the area all with a clear view of me so I walked on through to another section when I returned two still remained.
Initially I just slooked through the different assortments that were there trying to put on an amused face as if I was seeing them for the first time.
But now more people were coming my way, my face was starting to go red, what if someone knew me I wondered, no one would believe that I wasnot buying them for me.
I could not hang around here any longer I had go make a decision. Plucking up my courage I took in a huge gulp grabbed two packets of the shelf. Head down I went straight to the self service checkout and left.

When I got home I gave the two bags of fruit pastile jellys to my brother.

So this actually happened to me. I pride myself on my shopping what I buy and actually felt really embarassed buying such junk. Its become a taboo to me now

anyone else

Wow what a sense of relief. After the first couple of words, I thought you were describing a recent experience of yours buying some DVDs at an adult book store.

There was no way I intended to imply anything other than buying sweets in a supermarket* just shows what your mind thinks off. Get your head out of the gutter

*Truth is for that situation Maxgain would feel no shame

lol maxgain! i dont have a funny story, but i DID feel a sense of superiority yesterday when i was queuing at the store with my basket full of goodies (egg whites, watermelon, apples, peaches, natural peanut butter, acorn squash that sort of thing) and the lady in front of me had a trolley full of CRAP! candy, processed stuff, you name it. I would be embarrassed to do somebody else's grocery shop for them if it involved having a cashier ring up six packages of '100 grand bars' among other stuff.

Maxi hold your head up high and march right over as if you deserve them! I flaunt it while buying BBQ Fritos and whole milk at 11pm at the local convenience store. Usually I'm waiting in line with the smokers and the stoners buying ciggy's and pop.

Yesterday I took my son (back from Calgary now) out for a bagel breakfast. It was so crowded in there. I got the really long lingering judgmental once-over by two fat ladies squeezed around a cafe table. I didn't need a tape measure or scale to know my accomplishments. I made sure to pass by their table again when we were on the way out. I got the same "assessment" and shot them a friendly affirmation smile that said I caught them at it and "thanks for the compliment".

Those people don't know anything about me. Why should I feel embarrassed?

Exellent Brat.

I now by my oreos with my head held high too. That is only on the weekends which include a pound or two of them of course.

Funny thing though, in this town everyone watches my cart to see what I'm buying then they start buying it too.

I think that when an obese family (which sadly includes young children )comes into a restaurant and has a 5 course meal is when someone truely has no shame.

I hate that. I always point out to my wife the Obese people in the suppermarket and show her what they are buying. Then if I see a fat kid I like for the parents most of the time they are huge and have the 100 "100 Grands in they re cart" or like 1200 cans of chef boy r dee. It makes me sick to think that the kids are taught to be unhealth. It makes me just want to walk up to them and slap them and say "What are you thinking?"

I think I get the must funny looks when I am at work and pull out a hard boiled egg for a snack or store apples and protien bars and drinks in my drawer.

I've only just discovered 100 grand bars. The dark chocolate ones are awesome (but limited edition).
