i guess a better answer is probably going to come from an actual woman lol... but i think its just the fact that it shows a guy is in shape, works hard, and can take care of himself. on the other hand, some girls are definitely not attracted to muscular guys.

Women may care about muscles a little bit, but they're much more attracted to money.

Women might initially be attracted to muscles. But big egos overpower any looks in my book. Someone that is so vain and arrogant that you can't have a conversation with them is a out. It only takes a few seconds to win or lose that one.
Most women are more attracted to romance and brains than muscles.

No no like I understand that personality is much more important but like what do women find attractive in muscles. Like this may be the incorrect term but it tends to "turn them on" i just want to know why? Whats so special, theyre just built up tissue.

Like maurer said, some women are not even attracted to muscles. But for the women who are, I believe they find it attractive due to it shows a sign of strength and protection, but thats just me.

Go to the library and find "origins of the species" and read it. Then read anything by Desmond Morris. Then you shall have your answer. Then you'll also know why women chose the rich guy to marry and stay with but cheat with the muscle guy from next door.

Muscles = in shape; being in shape > being out of shape
I hope you all enjoyed today's math lesson. 
But seriously I think it's all about personal preferance. I've met lots of girls who are actually turned off by muscles.

Muscles generally mean a more dominant nature, however many women like the softer more submissive man too.

I think muscles probably give women a sense of more security and feeling of safety. Dependnig on the type of women, some get off on their men kicking ass and others get turned off by a man that can't walk away from situations.
One day when you develop some muscles, xtremetris, you'll see what I mean.
