Dav3y...does the container actually say not to take more than 2 or 3? Personally I take them only a few times a week, maybe 2-4 times at the most, usually less. I always forget lol.

I used to take 4 meals plus 4 shakes per day, now though it's usually non, unless I'm going to workout - if I've learnt anything from my time in lifting it's that unless directly after a workout, shakes are pretty useless - unless you want to pay A LOT of money for slow digesting protein which can be found much cheaper in foods. Amino acids are only available 4 hours max after eating and this is affected by other endogenous factors such as rate of metabolism.....amino's from shakes are usually in and out of your system in 45mins on average - which only gives chance for around 50 - 60% absorption ...the rest is destroyed by the liver and excreted .

I gave up on just shakes... kinda boring to me, so I made it more enjoyable

In the morning I have protein pancakes, (I make about 24 of them Sunday and it lasts me all week) and after my workout I'll have a protein shake, followed a couple hours later with 'protein enhanced' oatmeal. I use vanilla flavor so I can add it to just about anything.

I use whatever pancake mix we have lying around, and mix it per the directions on the box and add roughly 3/4 (.75) serving per cup of pancake mix. The last batch I made was like 3 cups of mix, so I added about 2 servings of protein powder. I just add a little more water if necessary, but it's usually fine as is.

It basically adds about 2-3 grams of protein per pancake... for a total of about 4-5 grams roughly. So I get about 21 grams of protein out of 3 pancakes

3-4

until recently i would have 1 upon waking to replenish my body then i have breakfast. i usually sleep no less than 8 hrs so ive essentially fasted for this period.

then i grab another shake before my workout (either with my lunch if i'm particularly hungry or AS my lunch if i'm not).

after my workout i grab a handful of fruit (grapes, strawberries, an orange or banana) and another shake.

if i feel like my sensitive stomach can take it i'll down another just before bed.

so i guess my answer is 4.

Ok, I am a protein shake junky. I live on them and until a decision just today to go back to more meat products, I was drinking 6. This is not how many "servings" though. I basically use 2 servings per shake so, 12 may be more fitting.

I am not happy with that and though it works, am going to change it. I bought some pretty good turkey patties today and am going to get more chicken when I go to Costco this weekend.

No shakes anymore. Protein bars right after the weights and real food the rest of the time. Whey shakes are good, but like Lee said, right after your workouts only. This is the only time when the body works fast enough to absorb and utilize the fast acting whey. This is often called the "anabolic window" which lasts approx. 1.5 hours post workout. After that, the proteins are rushed through the body too fast and bypass the atrophied areas.
