Acid Reflux

Couple weeks ago I stopped taking my Nexium thinking it wasn't helping me much and boy was that a mistake. My last week of workouts have been really hard because I get terrible indigestion as soon as I get into them. Pretty bad having acid reflux at only 19. I've had it for a couple years too.

One reason I'm posting this is because if anyone noticed during their workouts that they are getting weird indigestion feelings during workouts and can taste food they ate hours before, you probably have acid reflux and should go get a prescription. I'm really disappointed that I stopped taking mine I'm not even bothering finishing my ab workout tonight because I feel that ****ty. Ugh.

My grandfather just takes his Nexium every other day instead of everyday and says it works just as well.

Tweak your diet. You are too young for this. Take your meds and fix whatever dietary issue is contributing to it.

For me, it was more fat, less carbs. This slowed down my digestion so that I never had an empty stomach full of acid. For others it's eat less fat to reduce acid production. For someone else, it may mean lay off the jabeneros.

It's a problem I've had for a long time man and I don't think a diet change will help. I used to be pretty heavy when I was little and that's when it started. I eat pretty good now but I'm stuck with it.

yeah, I didn't think a diet change would do it for me either. I was eating a whole large bottle of Rolaids or Tums EVERY DAY along with my prescription medication for it.

Suddenly, one day during my dieting down phase of the reconstruction of me - I realized that I hadn't had a tums in over a month. I dropped the prescription to see what would happen. No pain from reflux since then...ever.

I still get the growly, rumbly, rolly stuff in the lower abdomen from high carbs but no more reflux.

It's worth a shot to experiment with your diet and see if it can at least help some.

When I finally graduate and move out I can have more say in the things I eat. As for what I eat now, I do eat a lot of carbs mainly because it's what the majority of food in this house is. :P
