thanks. but:
i don't think proteins ARE amino acids. it's like saying the house IS bricks. i was under the impression that proteins are made up of amino acids. from my understanding for the body to use protein it needs to break it down to amino acids and than rebuild a new protein molecule from those amino acids. much like you would disassemble a house made of bricks and than rebuild another house with those bricks.
so my point is (or question rather) that if our body needs amino acids to be able to build the proteins, why don't we take amino acid directly, so we save our body the hassle of breaking down complex protein molecules. i think there are many amino acids that are missing in whey, which are necessary to build certain types of proteins, that are necessary for some types of tissue. when there is a missing element, the protein can't be built, so we would miss out on an opportunity to grow. so taking amino acids, which are balanced (hopefully) might be more practical.
i don't buy the reasoning that amino acids don't exist in nature, so why bother taking it. i don't want to make a list of stuff we are taking that doesn't exist in nature, but i think i could think of half a dozen with no problem and i'm talking just natural here.
let me know what your thought on this one?
btw i thought we agreed the tablets are useless.
