Blood Sugar

I have been told one of the reasons it is difficult for me to get cut is because my bloodsugar gets spiked.I have been eliminating the white stuff. I was looking at a website that recommends a product called DB-7 http://www.back2health.citymaker.com...97/1342198.htm. l Has anybody used this product before? It keeps on coming up for me with their online health search (pretty cool feature) and it sounds like it would be beneficial. I am also contemplating green alive from the same website. Does anyone have any info about controlling blood sugar? That website is new as I understand but has anyone else checked it out or have any experience with it? www.healthatyourdoorstep.com . I bought my jarrow american whey protein from there and I think I got a good deal and it came really fast so check it out and tell me what yopu think. thanx

anyone who's had a brush with type II diabetes (hi!!!) has experience controlling blood sugar.

in essence, you're gonna have to eat on a schedule - every four hours was recommended by the dietitian, but if you're working out, it's every three hours BY THE CLOCK to regulate blood sugar levels.

eliminate highly processed starchy stuff - white bread, sugar cereals, instant oatmeal, white potatoes, etc - and go with whole-grain alternatives.

you'll also need to learn about the glycemic index. the GI measures the impact of various foods on your blood sugar, giving each food a rating up to 100. the lower the GI, the smaller the impact on your blood sugar: http://www.glycemicindex.com/.

Defianetly not a spammer. thanx for assuming.

Appreciate the info threenorns, I have been reading up on the GI and that was one of the reasons I was contemplating a product to assist in the sugar regulation.

I think the herbal stuff you asked about is junk. You can regulate your blood sugar easily by diet alone. Make sure that you eat the most simple sugars post workout. That is when you need the insulin to push the nutrients into your muscles.

You will be better off controlling your insulin by regulating the glycemic load. Go read up on "Glycemic Load". There is a difference between "Glycemic Index" and "Glycemic Load" The lower the "load" the less insulin is released.

4-hydroxyisoleucine
Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) has a long history of use throughout Asia and the Middle East for soothing stomach ulcers, promoting lactation and healing various skin conditions. Recently, researchers found that a free amino acid—4-hydroxyisoleucine—present in minute amounts of the common household spice, may play a role in weight loss.

Although 4-hydroxyisoleucine was discovered more than a decade ago, only recently have there been manufacturing methods to extract the amino acid on a commercial scale. Expect to see this ingredient making its way to market in various diet formulas soon.

In several studies, researchers have shown that 4-hydroxyisoleucine plays a valuable role in insulin promotion and glucose regulation, which may help to reduce body fat. The amino acid 4-hydroxyisoleucine stimulates insulin secretion, thereby limiting the extent to which blood glucose is elevated. Elevated blood glucose after meals leads to increased body fat production.

More significantly, the effect of 4-hydroxyisoleucine appears to be glucose dependent, meaning the higher the blood glucose level, the greater the insulin-promoting response elicited by 4-hydroxyisoleucine. By helping to regulate insulin needs, 4-hydroxyisoleucine works as an adaptogen.

In addition to being useful for weight loss, 4-hydroxyisoleucine's insulin-promoting effects may be beneficial to non-insulin-dependent diabetics because standardized 4-hydroxyisoleucine extracts can help to maintain a stable glucose level (Diabetes, 1998).

Soluble fiber in whole fenugreek may also aid in weight loss. These fibers, most notably galactomannans, have been shown to sequester fat. They appear to bind directly to dietary fat and reduce its absorption into the body.

Alot of the newer creatines have this in it to increase creatine uptake,I found the fenugreek seed here dirt cheap http://www.doctorstrust.com/search.h...C%20Fenugreek; just dont know what kinda dosage you would take of these to get the 4-hydroxyisoleucine benefits.I have seen straight up 4-hydroxyisoleucine here http://www.bulknutrition.com/?products_id=1583 Sounds expensive to me but I have no clue what the doses are.
