I don't find it useful for making or maintaining muscle at all. I use it to stop the demylenation when it happens. Usually I just go to the doc's office and she gives me a 20mg injection a few times a week until the symptoms resolve. I used to be able to just get it filled at the pharmacy but for some reason it is always back ordered from the manufacturer now. Or maybe they've stopped making it, I don't know.
The only use of androgens was a few times when there was only
strength loss. We used just enough anavar to help me get my strength back to almost where I was at. Only 10mg a day for 1 month. I consider that cheating though - so it was one time only during a recovery period. It didn't help much - it did help get partial strength back but since my problem is neurological and not muscular it was really just an experiment. No fair really, people with things that acutally do lead to muscular atrophy can use it and get good results. Again, not worth the risks involved in using it for the minimal benefit. Definitely not enough benefit to use it for an unfair advantage in lifting.
When discussion of longer term use came up I wasn't interested. It's good to know that it is a possiblity if this disease ever takes me to that point though.
I've had to use 1g/day of solu-medrol for 3 days in the past before too. I don't like it as well because the side effects are worse. Too grouchy.
