Could you participate in the Olympics?

I just read about a female Russian Biathalete (Cross country Skiing and Target shooting) who was stripped of her medal and banned for 2 years for using an over the counter medication her doctor prescribed. Other Cross country skiier were banned for having high Hemoglobin counts possibly indicating EPO (the stuff Lance Armstrong got accused of using) use.

My question is I wonder if under these incredibly strict standards any of us would be eligible to participate? It seems as if many common medications are banned substances in the Olympics.

Well all itake is creatine and caffeine all legal for sports,
For the blood one as far as i am aware for WADA blood suspicions must be backed by a positive EPO result in a urine test.

Even caffeine levels are subject to a certain limit for Olympic athletes.

Aren't the vasoconstrictor/bronchodilator products such as ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, and similar things banned? I remember some years back one olympic competitor was an asthmatic and the asthma medication caused them to be disqualified.

"WADA has implemented a prohibited substance list based on these principles which is updated annually. This list includes anabolic agents, agents with anti-oestrogenic activity, beta-2 agonists, glucocorticosteroids, masking agents, narcotics, peptide hormones, stimulants (excluding caffeine, pseudoephedrine, phenylephrine, phenylpropanolamine, pipradol), "

Taken from an essay written by moi so you know its reliable

So sudafed isn't banned but beta2 agonists are? This would mean that an albuterol treatment would get one disqualified? That hardly seems fair - where is the sporting advantage to a beta2 agonist - a drug that lets you breathe, but makes you feel like shaky sh*t. No performance enhancement there.

And PPA is allowed? I thought that stuff wasn't prescribed any more because of HTN risk. I may have that one mixed up with something else though. I've been known to do that.

One can be allowed a TUE -therapeutic use exemption for the use of certain beta2 agonists salbutamol and salmeterol I think cant fully remember.
If the concentration is over 1000ng/dl then they are banned.

Interesting fact: about 7% of the population have asthma, ~20% of athletes have a TUE for asthma medication.
Sport is bad for you!!!
