I've always done my best to avoid caffeine when taking creatine, but alot of people don't really know why, or are ignorant to the whole issue. I found a good article on it which includes a good study on the subject
The study showed that taking creatine and caffeine at the same time didn't lower creatine levels in muscles, but it did appear to limit the effects creatine had on performance.

I always found it weird that people said that since the original creatine studies used caffeinated tea.
