creatine and sugar


i have heard that creatine is aborbed better if you have an insulin spike. my questions is what is the best way to achieve the insulin spike. is it ok to just add some table sugar to your creatine. would that work or is there a better way. and one other question is should i take a whey shake with the creatine or wait a a couple of minutes then take the whey. thanks in advance for any advice.

table sugar is fine pure dextrose is better as the fructose has no advantages.

Fine to lump them all together

you could even take the creatine with some fruit juice or Gatorade. That would be better than just table sugar. Anything with a relatively high GI works great. I've also known some people to scoop the creatine into their mouth and wash it down with their protein shake.

If it's creatine monohydrate than yes, you need an insulin spike as mentioned above. If you have creatine ethyl ester (CEE), the insulin spike is not required.

F-mac do you take CEE. I got it there a week ago and am taking 4g a day wondering how long it should take for noticable effects

Yeah I take CEE. If I go off it for any amount of time it usually takes a week or so before I start to notice anything again.

I take 3g pre & 3g post workout on training days. On off days I just take 3g in the morning, 3g after work at about 5pm. Did you get the bulknutrition stuff?

yup bulk nutrition. Thank god for the capsules it is vile i drank it the fist day and started heaving.
Id say I have about 500mgs per capsule so I have only been taking 2.5g a day not great i guess.
Not noticing anything anyway

bump up the dosage.

As for the taste, yeah it sucks. All I do is mix it with a tiny bit of water (just enough to dissolve it) then just shoot it and chase it with some crystal light or juice. You will get used to it after a while, and I find the BN stuff to be more sour than bitter, the Trueprotein stuff is worse tasting.

guess I better weigh my capsules dont thin they meet gMP standards.
Yeah will bulk it up then but when i had a creatine mono i responded to after bulking 5g a day was plenty so i presumed 3g of the CEE would be sufficient

I don't think milk will contain enough sugar. You'll need something high in sugar, like fruit juice or gatorade.
