Hey-a!

Ok, I'm a little confusedabout drinking 1 gallon of water a day when taking creatine. I usually don't drink a lot of water until my workout comes. Post workout I drink a lot. Well, through out the day I drink things like tea, some water, and orange juice. Since tea is 98% water and orange juice has a lot of water in it, do you think drinking these will hydrate me enough to take 5g of creatine?

i know the tea will, not sure about the juice. i'm sure it's better than drinking soda and such, but the more water the better.

In my humble opinion loading creatin is a huge waist of money and not necessary.

It may not be necessary but the cost wouldn't go up because you cycle off it and that covers the extra you use during loading phase. most people i talk to do cycle after the first few months b/c they say that your body adjusts somewhat. not sure if there is any truth but like dalink went said, to each his own. me personally, i don't cycle either.

Question

This is my first post here so please bear with me. When should you add creatine to your diet. I started working out about 3 months ago to loose my love handles and I have had great results. I have lost about 4 inches in my waist but still have a couple more to go. I would like to add some mass in the not to distant future. Should I wait to start taking the creatine until I have lost the extra weight or is it okay to go ahead and start taking it now. thanks for the advice this board is full of wonderful info

effectiveness of creatine

Since your body absorbs more water when you are on creatine, it won't need as much when you are off of it and you muscles won't look as large right? I've also heard that you loose strength when you go off of creatine, so wouldn't you go back to looking the way you did before you starting taking it?

He's a crew chief and he works in the MOC. (Maintenance Operations Controler or something like that lol) He's in the process of trying to commission though so hopefully he won't be doing that much longer .

No. It's like two steps forward, one step back haha. You do lose some water so you won't look as "pumped" and Creatine gives you that extra oomph to kick out those last heavy reps so without it you may lose a bit of strength, but you don't go back to where you started if you're eating/lifting correctly.

I'm considering the creatine route. I've been lifting rather diligently now for about 7 months, and while I've increased in strength [yay!] I really haven't increased much in size.

I'm 21 years old, 5'3", and about 14% bodyfat as of right now. I eat very healthy, try to consume carbs & protein at the right times, and I feel I'm right on track as far as my diet goes. And as far as my cardio goes, also.

I just feel so disheartened. I feel like while I've increased in strength, I have nothing to show for it. Anyone have any advice or suggestions to pass my way? Thanks!
