Creatine for Women

Is creatine safe for women? I'm a 36 yr old female that would like to gain some muscle definition on my body. Right now I have NONE. Due to a personal tragedy last month I lost an additional 15lbs and look very weak and drawn (Almost anorexic). I am now planning to pick myself up and get into shape. As of now, I don't have much of an appetite and am probably not taking in enough calories. I need to get strong again both mentally and physically. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Not everyone responds well to creatine. It is not a male/female issue. I tried creatine and it didn't do much for me. Creatine is found in all meats so if you add more meats to your diet and see good/great results you may respond well to creatine.

Adding muscle is tough for women. I would suggest you get your calories up and stay consistant before adding more complexity. Same goes for your routine. Lift heavy, get rest and eat right.

If you don't respond to monohydrate you might want to try CEE (creatine ethyl ester).

I second the above statement, CEE is supposed to work in just about everyone, as it is more easily absorbed into the system. I would give it a try. And yes, creatine is as safe for women as it is for men, and can benefit from it just as much.
