Creatine, type of steroids?

Ok, someguy at my work who use to work out and have taken creatine before says creating is a type of steroid. It this true?

I disagree with this because i though creatine worked by balancing your atp cell for better energy production and by delivering monohydrates to your muscle which are lost during workout.

If he his wrong, i couldnt prove him wrong because i am not sure what exactly steroids does besides how it help raises testorone level which i dont think creatine does.

Exactly the guy at your work is a gymbecile! Anybody who says this supplement is a steriod (and has used it) needs a good slap!!
Creatine is natural in the body it is produced by the liver it is used for increasing ATP stores and another one of it's main side effects is water retanation which bassically means it pushes water and nutrients into your muscles giving them a fuller and larger look. There is a link at the top of this page about Creatine Hereis a link explaining its safety and how it is used by the bodyas well as over 1000 refrences baking it up!

Steriods are a artifical version of the male hormone Testostorone which Creatine certianly is not!

i cant believe the amount of BS spread about creatine. as they say, a lie told often enough becomes a truth, and soon i think creatine will be put under the review of our government for possible bannage like previous supplements. but you can bet (and i hope) the outrage over this would be much greater than the ban on andro (which i agreed with) and ephedra.

creatine is perfectly safe if used correctly. if hes so afraid of creatine tell him to stop eating steak. use the link ionor gave for more great info.

Creatine will never and should never even be thought about being banned. It's a natural substance already found in the body and red meat.Ephedra was a dangerous substance which led to hart attacks (in some people) and sever side effects in others. Andro was also a very dangerous supplement.
If you have read the article about Creatine at the top of this forum some clown with no scientific backing what so ever tried to convince everyone Creatine is a very dangerous substance Yu Yevon in my post posted over 1000 refrences regarding it's safety who you going to belive?

12,000 calories and you're not gaining? Interesting, because most pros take in anywhere from 5,000-10,000 and gain no problem. How much do you weigh and how much protein and carbs are you consuming per day? Something is drastically wrong and does not add up here....there is no way you could not gain (muscle OR fat) on 12,000 calories per day. Even a bodybuilder of 280-300 pounds would gain on a diet consisting of that many calories. Something don't add up here...BIGTIME!

Holy moly man! 12000 a DAY?! I'll ditto Todd's post. Perhaps the routine needs to be re-assessed? Is your form 'optimal' for growth? 12000 has GOT to be a typo?

Just out of curiousity, if creatine helps you retain water, how much of a difference will you see on the scales? I have a friend who said she took it and it made her hungry. hhmmm...Are we talking like, maybe 10 pounds of water weight added on to the scales?
