Cyclone Supplement

At present, I use a Whey Protien Suppliment. Progain. This gives me 28g Protien per scoup and I have two per day. I`ve been told about another suppliment from the same company called Cyclone. I`ve shown below what it includes and just wondered if anyone could give their opinion on it as I am a bit "green" when it comes to these. Thanks.

If you take the recommended two scoups per day, then this is what you get from it:

60 grams of Whey Protein,
40 grams of Creatine transporting dextrose,
6.25 grams of MCT's & EFA's,
10 grams of Creatine monohydrate,
10 grams of added Glutamine,
3000 mg of HMB,
80 mg of Beta-Ecdysterone (97%),
400 mcg of Chromium Polynicotinate,
10 mg of Bioperine and
2000 mg of Potassium & Sodium Bicarbonate.

It almost sounds like it is a meal replacement product. The value of it depends on how much it costs. The important ingredients are the whey, dextrose, and creatine. These are especially useful post workout. The jury is still out as to the effectiveness of glutamine while other proteins are consumed. The usefulness of MCT's is still being debated, but the EFA's are good especially if you don't like fish. The HMB is expensive and not proven useful enough to be cost effective. Beta-ecdysterone is pretty much worthless. Chromium buildup is a concern for some. The Bioperine is there for help in absorbtion (of what I am not certain, probably the chromium). Potassium is good but you can get it from bananas and the sodium bicarbonate is supposed to help reduce lactic acid buildup if you can stomach it. If you are getting it for a very good price then it is worthwhile, but if you are paying a couple of bucks per serving then I would hesitate to use it.

Iron just intrested, about the creatine, I am taking one scoop about 3 - 4 hours before my workout then my next one about 3 - 4 hours after my workout, Am I losing anything here? Because It sounds like you recommend it after a workout ? Would it be Ok , to mix creatine milk and whey protein into the same drink, rather than take it with grape juice, or just stick to what I am doing ?

If you are using straight creatine you should probably take it about 1 hour before your workout. Reason being that it takes about an hour to reach your blood stream, where it will be available for an hour to an hour and a half before it is excreted. Therefore, it will be able to replace creatine lost from your muscles during your workout. If your creatine comes in a protein/carb mixture then taking it post workout is OK. When you take it isn't a real critical issue.

Thanks for the reply on the supp. Looks like I`d be paying for a lot of stuff that I dont really need. Think I`ll just stick to the Whey Protien for now and maybe move on when that has gone to a different one if I think I need to.
