I love sweets.

But since I'm trying to cut down on them, the Detour bar acts as "the Snickers that I can have." In other words, to me, it's a cheat food. But I don't feel as guilty as I do if I had a real Snickers bar.

As for other health bars... If they taste like dirt, I chuck 'em and eat real food. [i]

If you are interested in losing fat ... cross all of the protein/energy bars right off your shopping list. If it tastes like candy ... then it is candy. I can (you can too ) scramble 7 egg whites with one yolk, get 31 grams quality protein, and pay just 59¢. The only fat that I intake is natural/quality from the single yolk (only 1.5 grams of which is saturated).

Ouch! Now I have really no choice but to turn it into a cheat food, since fat loss is my primary goal for the moment. And maybe then I won't be looking for it as much anymore.

Cursor hit the nail on the head as usual =). The better those bars taste, the worse it is nutritionally speaking.

yeah but when you need a break or a "cheat food" would you rather eat a real candy bar or 3 slices of pizza or a Detour ? We all need a small break here and there and i only eat them like MAYBE once a week. I have had a box of 12 in the fridge for 2 weeks now
