Thumbs up

After MuscleMama recommended those Detour bars, I went to GNC and tried one. And then I ordered a box.

Re: Detours Baby

I eat them..
I dont eat them every day though..

I dont worry about the fat content..

29% is a little higher than Id like, but all the rest of my food fat % is much lower. It all evens out in the end.

Ill eat them when im craving something "bad"

I bought a box to, but I'm going to be the odd one here and say I don't really like them . Take that with a grain of salt though because I don't really like chocolate either. I thought that the chocolate covering wouldn't be too overwhelming, but the rest of it wasn't yummy enough to make up for the chocolate taste . I have a box -2, anyone want them? haha

Honestly though, they are not THAT bad. They are edible. On the other hand, for me, I would rather eat another protein bar that "wasn't THAT bad", but had less sugar/fat.

Don't like chocolate? Man, I wish I had your taste buds. I find that, most of the time, chocolate is my biggest temptation.

You're right about the high sugar/fat content of those Detour bars. I might just have to make that my cheat food. That way my taste buds will think I ate a Snickers, but I won't really feel too bad about it.

BTW..
I tried one of the "U-Turn" bars. Made by the same people..
supposed to be like a milky way bar..

Pretty good too, and only 23% fat instead of 29% fat

I tried that yesterday, too. It's very caramelly. But personally, I prefer the Detours.

That sums it up for me to. I stay away from the Detour bars and I go for Met-RX or Pure Protein usually =)

Okay I am not sure what a detour bar is like I mean is like a nutritional bar of some sort or just a type of candy bar. Well from what I see as having alot of sugar and 29% FAT -- is that right? If you ask me with that nutritional value it might be healthier to mix chocolate protein powder and milk and ice and add some twix and snickers bars and just have a milkshake LOL

Heh I actually dig the Pure Protein - anything with alot of sugar is too sweet for me (I don't like sweets at all!).

I would rather suffer through the nasty bar and get used to it (and you do get used to it - just takes some time) though, then to wolf down a candy bar with alot of protein heh.
