Question

Do these fat burning pills burn muscle as well?

I'm just about done my bulking phase and I worked really hard to put a good amount of muscle on my frame but I want to lower my BF % and I'm going to carefully use ephredra based pills as a ways to accelerate the process. I'm worried that along with burning fat, these pills will significantly decrease my lean muscle mass as well? Can anyone who has had experience with this type of supplement tell me if this is true? I'm hoping it's only a minimal loss. I will, of course, still be on my regular lifting routine, 4-5 days a week + cardio.

Also, how many pounds of fat does the average person lose per month on these pills? I know the results are different for every individual...but does anyone have a very general estimate at least?

Thanks.

Well your going to lose some muscle whether you use the pills or not, everyone does on a cutting phase. How much you lose is going to be dependant on your diet not the pills, if you've got a real good diet with timings that are accurate and well calculated then your not going to be losing much muscle mass at all, however if you dive in at the deep end and take the pills without sufficient food intake then your gonna lose what you gained. Your body physically can't burn more than 2lbs of fat a week.....a bitch aint it ? To say it can put on more than that in a week but not take more off....doh. So with your highered metabolic rate whilst on the pills, someone who made good use of them as a supplement could lose 2 1/2 to 3lbs a week maybe.

I disagree with the statement that the body can't burn more than 2lbs a week.I personally say though as long as you keep your protein intake high then their isnt any reason you should lose that much muscle mass or any at all (my opinion).

Thanks for the info.

If there's one thing I'm good at - it's keeping a good diet, so hopefully I can maintain my protein intake and not lose too much muscle...cuz that would suck. It would be like a no win no lose thing...bulk up to my ideal weight, then cut and lose all the muscle I gained.

You are both on the right track but each person has to find out what works for them....
2 lbs a week is a guideline some people will be able to burn more some less.
Same with protein intake some people will burn some muscle with a high protein low carb diet and some will not.

The main thing is get your diet straight and figure out YOUR PARTICULAR genetics which no-one knows even you dont know all of the time and lose as much fat as your can.

I believe I have seen somewhere that Ephedrine actually has anti-catabolic effects. This would bode well to saving muscle while on a lower calorie diet.
