Creatine will make you gain a decent amount of water weight, and taking 30g of it is more than I'd recommend. The recommended serving is 5g, though I usually take 10g a day while on it.

Like Cort said, creatine will enable your muscles to draw in and hold more water. This in turn, will allow you to lift more and be more productive in your workouts. This in turn, will eventually allow you to add more lean muscle more quickly...which in turn results in more gained muscle weight.

Enough protein is essential in order to grow new muscle. No protein = no muscle, period. So yes, over time, both protein and creatine will aid in weight gain. Just make sure your diet is in check with the right amount of calories for your intended goals. :

Make sure your diet is in order before using ANY supplement. I have seem a ton of people waste their cash on good supplements (like Whey and Creatine) and only get moderate results because the nutritional foundation was not there.
