Question

Energy Before Workout

After a long day of work all I want to do is go to the gym but the fact is I'm usually pretty tired. I get plenty of sleep 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Taking a nap before the gym is out of the question. Is there any product out there for a quick energy boost on days where I'm really tired?

Thanks

Both times are good. Eventually you will be full of energy and won't need the boost!

Also, if you're feeling a bit down a good warm-up can usually wake you back up.

Here's what I would do, and I've done this lots of times, when I pull-up to the gym or my house (my gym) I just sit in my truck, lean my back (not the seat, thats a no,no) rest my elbow on the window edge with my palm on the side of my face and go to sleep for 5-10mins (it's so easy, because I pretty much want to fall asleep at the red lights) it's hard to stay asleep in that position in the vechile for a long time, by the time I get out and start warming up I'm full of energy, I've done this at work also, take my last 10mins of lunch and put my head on the desk, lots of energy after that, powernaps man, beats taking supps.

My friend at the gym drinks something called Redline. Says it gets him going. I read the warning lable on the thing and it says that you shouldn't drink it if you have a weak heart or are 15lbs overweight. If thats not you, you might give it a try.

I didn't get much sleep last night, so I had an excessive amount of caffeinated green tea this morning and by the time I got to the gym I was shaking and feeling like an animal. It doesn't take long at all for caffeine to kick in.

Powernaps are fun but they just make me want to sleep more.
