Whats the deal with these? Is it worth it to take these before intense weight lifting and/or cardio? What sort of time frame is there before the caffeine/sugars hit you and then wear off? Some of the drinks have both simple and complex carbs, will this keep you going for awhile?
Would like to know what the "experts" think before I experiment.

I have just started drinking a redbull before my workout. Another good ingredient it contains is taurine. I just read an interesting article in 'Muscle & Fitness' magazine condoning the use of these drinks before a workout. I'll post an excerpt from this article later.
