Females...supplements?

I work for GNC down here in NC and NEVER see females come in for supplements.. only diet pills...Atkins..and multis..

So since most of my training comes from my customers...I don't know what I should do??

Should I just continue to take Protein and live with the results i'm getting while working out? Or can I try taking Creatine? Any other females tried the creatine? Take the same amount as suggested?? Any results??

Thanks
-Nikki

Women can take creatine at the same dosing levels as men. You should experience weight and muscle gain fairly close to what males gain. Be sure to drink plenty of water while uisng. Good luck and keep us posted on your results!

you can definately take creatine

all these supplements that are siad to be designed for women or men are really mostly marketing

i dont think your gains will necessarily compare to men because of lower test levels etc, but it will work adn safely

Creatine is perfectly safe for female usuage. One thing you must keep in mind though is that it will cause you to hold more water. Females in general have higher bodyfat percentages than males so this water gain could smooth your muscle tone out. This may or may not be a concern of yours depending on your goals.

MostMuscle, do you have any studies that show extra-cellular water retention caused by creatine?

No, most is stored within the muscle tissue causing the muscle to store more water and "blow up". Now if the athlete does not have a low BF % (most females don't) this will be seen as more of a "bloat" than an increase in vascularity. If you have a high BF % and your muscle get bigger (with no change in BF%) you will only look fatter. Most females are concerned with muscle definition rather than size or performance. This case may be different which is why I mentioned to her that it depended on her goals whether or not this mattered.

As a competitive bodybuilder, I have seen techniques were athletes diet down and then load up on creatine the last 3-4 days before a contest. Done correctly this can be a very effective technique to increase vascularity.

Is this the same NateDogg from the T-Mag forum?

Nah, different NateDogg.

I don't see how an increase in water within the muscle could result in a bloated look? Am I just reading your response wrong?

Ok...let me try to explain it.....

Football, yeah, Football might work...

Linebackers tend to be big, strong, powerful guys with relatively high BF%
Think.....Zack Thomas

Receivers tend to be big, strong, powerful guys with low BF%
Think......Terrel Owens.

Now, if we could stick a air hose into these guys and "blow them up", like creatine would do, both would get bigger.

But...

With no change in BF%

The linebacker would look big, swole and fat.
Think.....Warren Sapp.

The receivers would look big, ripped, and great.
Think.....David Boston

For further evidence...take a look at a recent picture of David Boston...think me may use creatine (along with a ton of other stuff)?

http://www.mostmuscle.com/images/boston.jpeg

Looking "thick" or "bloated" may not be a concern of many males but for females in general, that look is not something desirable.

I hope this clears things up.

Does tricreatine malate cause the same bloat as regular Creatine. I was thinking of adding swole or v12 to my diet but I wasn't sure.

Any suggestions.
