Glutamine good for immune system?

I heard that glutamine is good for your immune system. I heard that glutamine is good against fighting against stuff like colds, flu, etc. Does that mean if you take glutamine every day, say 20 mg., your chances of getting a cold and other minor illness' are less?

A lot of the research showing immune system boost has been with burn victims and intravenous glutamine, not the oral variety. From my understanding, you would need to take about 20 grams of glutamine each day for it to be close to effective. And at that rate you are looking at some internal distress (diarrhea, gas, etc).
