growth hormone releaser v/s whey protien

Ive been doing some research on growth hormone releasers like "ghr 15" and have found that a lot of the same amino acids found in in "ghr 15" are also found in my whey protien shake (optimum 100% whey). My question is, does anyone have experience with growth hormone releasers? do they work? or can i get the same results from my protien shake?

The only thing I use for a gh releaser is velvet bean (Mucuna). I take it before my workout and before going to sleep on an empty stomach every day. If you are going to use aminos for gh release you will need about 6 to 30 grams of arginine. You can also use an Arginine Pyroglutamate/Lysine mixture in a 1:1 ratio taking 2 grams per 100 pounds of bodyweight.

All foods are growth hormone releasers. Selling any supplement to specifically do this is a scam.

FWIW, if you take exogenous HGH at 4 times or more the output of a 20 yr old, it can take months to see the results. Remember HGH is not anabolic. Almost as a side effect it can be anabolic if combined with insulin in high doses. HGH is a great fat mobilizer, and helps grow connective tissue.

Natural GH release also only occurs when insulin is near zero. Read, 6-8 hrs after you last ate. Now, you might get a 400% increase, but it's 400% over your flatline, which won't do diddly for you.

Unless you are over 60 (with close to zero GH release) I wouldn't bother.

"Specific amino acids, such as arginine, lysine and ornithine, can stimulate growth hormone (GH) release when infused intravenously or administered orally."
Chromiak JA, Antonio J.
Nutrition. 2002 Jul-Aug;18(7-8):683-4

"Exercise is a potent physiological stimulus for growth hormone (GH) secretion, and both aerobic and resistance exercise result in significant, acute increases in GH secretion."
Wideman L, Weltman JY, Hartman ML, Veldhuis JD, Weltman A.
Department of Exercise and Sport Science, University of North Carolina-Greensboro, Greensboro, North Carolina

"data also support previous findings indicating that Abdominal Visceral Fat is a primary determinant of GH release"
Impact of abdominal visceral fat, growth hormone, fitness, and insulin on lipids and lipoproteins in older adults.
Weltman A, Despres JP, Clasey JL, Weltman JY, Wideman L, Kanaley J, Patrie J,
Bergeron J, Thorner MO, Bouchard C, Hartman ML.

Science is still has not determined conclusively how helpful GH is to an athlete. Look at how long it took them to catch on that weight training can HELP athletic performance. All you can do is be careful what you buy, or buy into.

Also, FWIW, homeopathic formulas of hGH are pretty much useless. hGH and anterior pituitary peptides are extremely delicate long-chain molecules that are destroyed in the stomach and even in liquid solution. That's not to mention that a few homeopathic formulas were found not to have any active ingredients in them in the first place.

Also, the arginine pyroglutamate/lysine hcl combination is very effective but needs a mininum amount of 1200mg of each, taken all at once to cause HGH stimulation. Before bed is the best time.

Also, Alpha GPC is starting to get very good research showing it consistently releases HGh in effective amounts.
