Guarana


I was in europe over spring break and noticed the big energy thing there is called Guarana, they put it in candy bars and drinks like Bawls. You guys know anything about this stuff?

"Guarana was the Indian name for the seed of the tree Paullinia cupana. The guarana tree grows naturally in Amazon from the western area of the river Tapajos to the basin of the river Madeira. Its energetic and tonic properties were knowledge by the Maues indian that used it before they go to the fights, to increase the resistance to the thirst, heat and fatigue.

The guarana seed grounded presents the following constituent: metilxantines (caffeine, teobromine and teofiline), starch, fixed oils, tannins, caprotanic acid, resins matters, fiber, gum, saponines, phosphate, phosphorus and potassium. That range of composed is responsible for the actions of the guarana on the organism: stimulant, energetic, tonic and aphrodisiac. Between the components the caffeine has the more potent stimulating action, because, it stimulates the breathing center, increases the heart beatings and the blood flow."
