help me prepare my supplementation program!

Hey all,

I'm planning a return to highly competitive (NCAA) soccer this fall, and after 2 years off from the game (not from training, just organized play), I'm preparing a pretty rigorous workout plan (weights, running, lots of sport specific drills), and I'm pretty confident in my food selction and timing (given all the running and the high level of activity, I'll be taking in more carbs than most of you guys on here, but my goal is peak performance and not just physical...I'm gonna need them carbs!.

so, after that run on sentence, we come to my questions about supplementation.

1. I realize the importance of protein and am a reguar user of whey protein. I plan on continuing this, but does anybody reccomend I look into one of the "slow digesting" or "night time" protein blends? will this benefit me?

2. a multivitamin is a must, but am I ok with a standard multi, or am I better off going for something more serious like an animal pak?

3. other supplements? I'm a little familiar with creatine, efa's, and glutamine...but I'm wary of including too many supplements in my program. any that you guys absolutely reccommend? brands? dosage? timing?

thank you very much in advance for any help!

udog.

1. You can always go with cottage cheese before bed, but yes, they are helpful to take before sleeping or when you are going to be away from food for a while.

2. standard multi-vitamin/mineral should be fine

3. I would look into a good EAA and/or BCAA supp like Xtreme's ICE or Vendetta.
