Yup, that's exactly what it is. It's like a "get rich quick" sort of deal. Sounds good, but most of them are scams. And, you'll most likely lose some friends if you keep pestering them to buy your products.
There are some that work, though. A friend of mine was able to buy himself a BMW and pay for his college tuition. On top of that, he gives his grandma a weekly allowance. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?
Anyway, back to topic... I'm sure there are better products than Herbalife out there. Sure, it's a big company and everyone knows them, but they're not necessarily the best. IMO, I'd rather buy the genuine stuff that really works and has research to back it up.
As far as taste goes, their protein bars aren't that bad. My roommate was with Herbalife for two days (then quit! lol

). She made me try the coconut
protein bar. Pretty good.
