How important are supplements?

I am wondering how important are supplements, especially in the cutting phase?

It depends how badly you need them, if your diet, cardio and lifting are all spot-on there a good supplement regimen will give you a little boost.

I wouldn't rely on any one supplement for results diet is the key.

Like Jock said, it depends. But we can say this: if you're not on top of your diet and routine then supplements won't be able to give you their full potential. Supplements will not compensate for poor nutrition or workouts.

I would say that your post workout nutrition is the most important thing. You might add a few % with a few supplements, but nothing like with the post workout shake.

Post workout, you should have -- No fat, lots of carbs, some protein. Continue for 3-4 hours. Protein synthesis is up to 400% higher if you eat right. You'll note this is the only time that protein synthesis will start (after exercise).
