How much is enough?

What is a good/average amount of protein to take after a workout, If I'm using powder protein I do 3 scoops which = 60 grams, or I drink an Isopure (40g.) or Myoplex (42g). How much do you guys take? And is there a recommended "Best"? (I Know 1 g per 2.2 lbs b/w or 1g per kilo)

after a workout i suggest 17-22g. any more than that you're just going to inhibit rehydration

keep in mind you're not using the protein shake to grow. its not a meal. its used to replenish amino-acid stores, deter catabolism so you can recover faster.

I don't remember the exact amounts, but studies have been done with post workout nutrition that have shown increased protein synthesis on as little as 6 grams of protein taken with 30 grams of carbs.

Personally I take more than that. Post workout is my window of opportunity to make the most of the nutrients I ingest.
