Hmmm I dont THink you can ever have enough water especially if youre On creatine.....Also drink as much water as possible because it cleans out your system and flushes things out. I found this out the hard way after I had kidney Stones

I drink over a gallon of water a day and still feel bloated. What's up with that? Am I not drinking enough?

I wouldn't worry about getting too much, most people do not get enough, even when they THINK they are getting adequate amounts.

Drink enough so that your urine color is clear throughout the day....then you know you are staying well hydrated. Also, you should never be "thirsty"...by that time, it's too late. You'll eventually be able to gauge what is enough, and stick with that....but it also will vary depending on air temperature, climate, your activity level for any given day/hour, etc..

The easy thing to do is just have water with you all the time, then you are prepared for any situation that may arise.

Every so often you hear of someone dying during a marathon from drinking too much water. Something about electrolyte imbalance caused by excessive sweating and too much intake of water. I don't think this is a concern for most people under normal circumstances though. Frequent urination is probably the biggest side effect of too much water (and bloating I suppose).

If you're concerned that you're drinking too much, try to keep track of how much you drink during the day, then cut it back and see how you feel. Remember your diet can be a big influence on how much water you need to drink, some foods like iceberg lettuce are essentially just crunchy water.

Just don't forget to balance your electrolytes, and you will be fine.

People who are doing drugs and are about to have a drug test think that drinking exorbitant amounts of water will flush the drug out of their body. They end up flushing out the electrolytes (as previous posters have said), and killing themselves. As long as you keep it under 5 gallons a day, you're OK.

You can also fail a drug test because your urine is too dilluted. Not a fail in the normal sense of detecting drugs, but a fail in the sense it looks like you're intentionally trying to hide something. Depending on who the test was for, this could be a bad thing.
