You wont gain 20 or 30lbs in 2 months. You have to set realistic goals, like 10 lbs in 2 months would be a good goal and a tough one. You just have to eat eat eat eat, nothing else.

Dude, I been the same weight for the past 11 years.. around 140lbs.. although I used to be steady at 130. Once I got to just over 155, but that was after about 3 months of doing nothing but work, working out, eating and sleeping. As well I have pretty much no fat on me even when I gain weight, I look really more ripped than I am. I got injured and came back down to 140 and just hit the gym again.. For me, the best way to gain weight is to work out sensibly.. eat enormously and sleep well. I can't stress eating.. depending on your body type. I can almost never eat enough...

80% of your gains come from eating right. Work out hard and eat a little more than what will keep a steady weight. Your body will use the difference to add muscle based on the workout stimuli. Too much more calories and it'll take the rest and add fat.

Can someone compare gaining weight based on how much i eat, with how much i work out. I mean should i just not work out and just eat eat eat or what? Cause i really do feel like a pig sometimes, its just that my metabolism is so high, thats what everyone says, i get excersise almost everyday. Any ideas on some kind of program, for my lifting and eating?

Eating more by itself will not add muscle. In order to build muscle you have to stimulate your body to want to add muscle. Theneat more (proteins) to give it the building blocks to add this muscle. How do you stimulate? Workout with a high degree of intensity. You have to push you muscles beyond their capabilities. When the body realizes this, it counters it by hypertrophy, which is muscle gain.

Quality as well as Quantity

beefcake made a good point about the protein.

I myself find it hard to put on weight, but the secret definately lies in your diet. I must stress though, it's not necessarily about how much you eat but WHAT you eat. If you just put a load of rubbish into yourself, you're going to get a load of rubbish out. Try to take in atleast 1g of protein for every pound of bodyweight. If you are not doing this, forget about gains. Also, you need to keep your carbs up. Try eating foods like potatoes and pasta, especially on days you are training (couple of hours before training). Carbs are your bodys preferred source of energy, if it doesn't have enough of 'em, it'll use up your precious protein. So:

*plenty of milk, chicken, cottage cheese, low fat yogurts (especially on non-training/rest days)
*plenty of potatoes, pasta etc. (especially on training days).

Always take a big drink of protein immediately after your work-out. Stress on the IMMEDIATELY.

I personally take porridge/protein drinks 3/4 times a day.

Does that help any?
