Hydroxycut for someone under 18?

I got a bottle of Hydroxycut (ephedra-free) at a GNC today, but found on the label later that it says this:

"WARNING: Not intended for use by persons under 18."

Why is this? I'm 16 years old, but is there something in hydroxycut that stunts your growth or something (something which would prompt a warning message like this).

Did they write this because Hydroxycut has caffiene in it? Or is it because taking it before the age of 18 could have bad long term effects? Thanks...

Hmm.. im not really sure why under 18's cant use it (some other members may be able to help though).

But if it says don't use it, I wouldn't - at least without medical advice.

Anyway - at 16 you shouldn't have a real need to use such products - wait until you are at least 18 - 19 -20+.

Just out of interest, what does your diet look like? (Taking hydroxycut with a poor diet probably isn't really going to make much of a difference).

Well for breakfeast I eat 3 eggs, 4 strips of bacon, and two slices of cheese on two small pieces of toast (I know, that probably sounds fatty as hell)...for lunch, I sometimes eat the same thing, or I eat diced fruit. Then for dinner, who knows...sometimes I eat steak, sometimes chicken, sometimes fish, sometimes junk food (not often, though).

If you want to recommend a better meal to eat for breakfeast, I'd appreciate it.

I run about half a mile to a mile a day (I'm slowly raising that each day as I go, though) and I work out 3 times a week.

Hi mate, it's nice to see that your open about your diet and willing to change it. Some may not agree with this but b/c your 16 I wouldn't take your diet to extremes like most of us do (I dont mean to sound patronising, but wait until ure a little older ).

Im no expert on healthy diets, but generally eat clean foods like pastas, rice, breads, im not too sure of good meats (im a veggie) but chicken and tuna seem to be good meats/fish/poultry/whatever lol.

Have a search on the forum for "clean diet" or somthing, im sure you will find plenty of information!

But taking any fat burner on a bad diet probably isn't going to help much

P.S for breakfast I usually eat an apple, protein shake and two slices of bread. What you eat really depends on wheter you are bulking, cutting or just looking to maintain your weight.

Remeber:
"calories out > calories in" = weight loss
"calories out < calories in" = weight gain
"calories out = calories in" = maintainance of current weight

Hope I could help!
