ok dude, listen carefully, you cannot cut & bulk at the same time you can't gain any quality amount of muscle without gaining a little fat.

To build muscle your body needs a diet with 50% Carbs 30% Protein and 20% Fat and a gradual increase in quality calories over your basal metabolic rate each week (300 is a good starting point).

I'm telling you straight man for every 2lbs of muscle you pack on expect to gain 1lb of fat, I know this sucks but it is the only drug-free, safe way to gain weight.

All those 300lb ultra-ripped monsters you see in the magazines are (a) on roids (b) significantly overweight in their off-season. (this is when they build all their slabs of muscle) They then spend the next 3 months dieting & doing cardio until they are ultra-defined for the cameras.

Whey protein & creatine is a good starting point, your obviously serious, which is good. You might wanna consider a weight gainer, just to make sure you get enough quality calories every day.

When you reach your target weight or size is when to worry about cutting and getting ripped. Hydroxycut is a good product, but is way too expensive. Try Xenadrine, it's cheaper & you don't have to pop pills every 5 minutes.

Post your weight & your goals & I will do my best to help you out.

Best of Luck, Jock.

Ok if you weigh 175lbs then your BMR is 2100 (multiply by 12). You should take this figure as a starting point for your amount of daily calories and then increase that total by 300 to 500 calories each week.

It all depends what kind of metabolism you have on how clean you can eat. The best thing about bulking is that you can eat pretty much anything you want as long as it's not complete s**t . Make sure you keep a track of everything you eat (starting a journal is a good idea) and your daily calorie totals.

Eat a 50% Carb 30% Protein 20% Fat diet which means you should get each day for the first week:

1050 cals from Carbs
630 cals from Protein
420 cals from Fat

1g Carbs = 4 calories,
1g Protein = 4 calories
1g Fat = 9 calories

So, each day for the first week you should eat:

262g of Carbs
156g of Protein
47g of Fat

You MUST increase your calories each week or you won't gain. You can keep doing cardio if you want but don't take any eca's like hydroxycut, it contains an appetite suppressant in it which will make it very hard to reach your totals.

Keep your lifting hard & heavy but don't overtrain, keep your workouts short, sharp & intense (under 1 hour) and allow 1 rest day in between workouts. Get 8 hours of sleep each night, try & drink 1 gallon of water a day.

Good Luck, Jock
