I am now in the world of the PWO shake??

After putting it off for awhile and making some nice gains I finally decided to join the world of the PWO shake. So I bought some ON Whey Vanilla Ice Cream flavor which incidentaly I love, no gastric problems it mixes great and tastes really good too, and some Glutamine peptide. I've been drinking 2 shakes a day, one in the mid afternoon as a snack/ meal replacement and one PWO. Today pwo I mixed 8oz. OJ w/ pulp, 4 frozen strawberries, 1/2 banana, tbsp glutamine and 1 1/2 scoops whey. This shake is awesome and tastes ubelievable I could drink like 10 more anyways just wanted to say that I have now joined all of you and don't know why I waited so long in the first place. One question I know you're supposed to use dextrose/ maltodextrin in your shake pwo so would Splenda apply. I looked on the back of the packet and Splenda is a mix of dextros and maltodextrin and it comes in big boxes that you can just measure off and pour in the shake. Any thoughts?

splenda has 0 calories so it is not dextrose/maltodextrin...besides, just buy straight dextrose...also, add 5-10 g creatine in with the pwo shake

Splenda uses the malto and dext as a filler, not as a sweetener. It won't count towards the post work out.

I would also save your money and skip the Glutamine, you are getting plenty in your ON shakes (Glutamine 3870 mg) You only need 10g/day... that's just 2.5 scoops.

I also take my protein (Choc) mixed in my coffee before I work out, then PWO I just scoop creatine in my mouth and then wash it down with my prot/dext shake.

Now Foods has a 2lb bag of dex for $2.

When I wrote the thread I am speaking of Post workout. I haven't bought any dextrose yet so far just using mainly frozen strawberries or OJ or both as my main carb source.
