I just got this creatine plus stuff...

yo, I just bought this creatine plus stuff called "High performance creatine" fruit punch flavor. It says for best results take 4 servings daily for 5 days then after 5 days take 1-2 servings daily. It's pretty much a mix of creatine, and a special type of really sweet sugar(the stuff tastes like **** so I just hold my nose and drink it) so yeah it does have quite a bit of carbs but I only take carbs before I workout. I have 2 questions

-Should I take all 4 servings in one shot before I workout? or should I spread it out? Because that would be 128g of carbs(32g carbs per serving) in one shot and I don't take in any other carbs during the day after I work out because it makes more sense since carbs are used quickly in the body as energy and if they are not used quickly they are stored as fat.

and

- What is the clear stuff at the bottom after I mix it? I think that's the special sugar in it, but it could be the creatine itself?

thanks

peace

i would not be too worried about taking in carbs after lifting or any part of the day. so no i would not take 4 servings in 1 i probably wouldn't take 2 servings, spread it out over the day, i would take one before and 1 after lifting, 1 with a shake in the morning and the last one wherever you can fit it, hope that helps

the clear stuff would be the actual creatine - it doesn't dissolve.

Damn. So does this mean the creatine itself is sinking to the bottom and i'm not getting all of it? It's only a very little bit of residue.

Depends mostly on where the carbs are coming from. Very true for sugar, but not for more complex forms.

As far as taking in carbs after your workout, that is probably the BEST time of day for you to be getting simple carbs.

For the creatine you can probably avoid the loading phase. Just take one serving before and after your workout and make sure you get a good amount of water.

With the creatine sticking to the glass, I usually put mine in a small one so that I can fill it back up and chug another glass to get anything that didn't mix well and stuck to it.

i used to put it in a water bottle, shake hard, then either swig really quickly (wide-mouth bottle like gatorade) or drink through a straw (narrow-mouth bottles).

Yeah, just a thought to avoid the extra 60 odd grams of sugar already pre-mixed.

true...you could always take 10 grams at a time with 5g of creatine+ sugar and then mix 5g of plain monohydrate with it

but you need to load...loading makes it so much more worth it

Ok, so what I did was I took 2 servings pre workout, 1 serving post, and one serving a little later. I'm on my fifth and last day of taking 4 servings and it really worked. I've also been taking protein. My curl went up 5 pounds, push ups went up 10 pounds, sit ups went up 10 pounds(I do push ups and sit ups with weights on my back) and I hit 8 pull ups for 3 sets, I only use to be able to do like 3. I got slightly more veins and definition. Little things like that, supplements aren't magic. And this is only 5 days, I wonder what is gonna happen in the next few weeks on the stuff. Now will I lose strength when I stop taking 4 servings daily? cuz after this im only gonna take 2 daily, pre and post work out.
