Note that the BV value of soy, while lower than whey, is still up there with several other quality protein sources:
Testify, Cursor! There are so many variables in the way protein from food eventually becomes muscle that the BV is just not as significant as some people make it out to be.

For a while, back in the Army, I used Supro exclusively for about a month (hey, it was on sale). I didn't notice any side effects, and I actually got quite lean.

I'll keep it in the back of my head, and if I stumble over any medical references I'll save them.
(Phytohormones is definitely not my area.)

From what ive read, builders like Ahnold and lou as well as some older body builders at my gym (One guy is 82 and in great shape) said they got alot of thier protein from Red meat, chicken and egg whites.

You are right Jakanden, they did eat lots of clean foods. But they also used soy as a supplement.

I hear a lot of conflicting info, but the balance seems to be tipping towards males avoiding soy.
Aayy?? Last I read, soy estrogen effect seemed to have a tissue specific effect. Giving the benefits of estrogen on some tissues(prostrate?), and having no effect on muscle tissues. It was like the best of both worlds. Soy is rated lower on the BV tho. My take is, the more variety u hav, the better.
