ahh so thats why people who exercise consistently require less sleep.

ive also been reading about how a combination of alcar and theanine can enhance stage 4 and rem sleep, requiring less. that would make sense because theanine increases GABA, but it also works in other ways. as soon as I can understand it i'll explain lol

Well hell fire, guess I just need to read up on my fitness for dummies book again. I take it for sleep, nuff said. Whether it actually increases GH is still to be 100% determined. Now some forms of it does cross the blood-brain barrier, thus increasing GH, but the oral form is still uncertain.

Its funny the stuff looks like cocane! My mom came in while I was putting it in water and was like "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING! " hehehe.

Question though how much should I start out taking? I think I took too little because I thought one scoop was a serving of 3 grams when 3 scoops was actually 3 grams (oops, it didn't really do anything). So should I just jump right into taking 3 grams or work up to it?

The study i posted above is for oral administration and notes a significant increase in GH

Ha, that's pretty funny. I had a similar thing happen when I first started using it. The deputies come to our office late for a place to hide an hour or two and take a break. I was mixing some up and they were like, "hey dieting are we - where's ours?". When I explained what it was and that they'd probably not finish the shift awake, they lost interest.

Correct, however there is only one study that seems to support this. There are others that havent drawn conclusive findings yet.

I find it hard to understand how such studies can be inclonclusive.
You simply take a group of individuals take a baseline GH or igf reading administer gaba take a reading about half an hour later or igf a few hours later and check for differences significant beyond natural variance.

A single oral dose of 5 g gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) was given to 19 subjects and serial venous blood samples were obtained before and 3 h after drug administration. A placebo was administered to 18 subjects who served as controls. GABA caused a significant elevation of plasma growth hormone levels (P less than 0.001), but did not consistently alter plasma prolactin concentration since only 5 out of 15 subjects showed an increase of the hormone. Eight additional subjects were submitted to an insulin tolerance test before and after per os administration of 18 g GABA daily for 4 days. Protracted GABA treatment significantly blunted the response of growth hormone and enhanced that of prolactin to insulin hypoglycaemia (P less than 0.01). These results indicate that pharmacological doses of GABA affect growth hormone and prolactin secretion in man. The precise nature of GABA's effects as well as its mechanism of action remains to be clarified.

This is the same study that pops up all over the net making these claims. I'm not saying it isnt true, but I'm not going to be convinced entirely until its proven more thoroughly.

Train heavy eat big then take a nap you will be pouring out the GH
