L Carnitine?

A friend has suggested 2 grams of l carnitnine a day for a month to help get that 'cut' look (i'm pretty ripped but there is still a little to go).

Is this a good move? If not, can anyone suggest something better?

Thanks guys...

I've just edited my original post where I said L-carnitine was useless (I was thinking in terms of endurance performance). It's effects on regular fat loss - I can't say I really know - but someone around here probably uses it - try the supplements forum

Moved.

L-carnitinine is a great tool for fat loss, absoloutly excellent. 2g a day in 500mg doses will get you where you want to be, it really is great stuff.

Ok, I need some advice, I just bought the stuff and it says take 2 tablets a day, one at each meal. But what about taking it not at a meal time.

When I get up I do 45 minutes on the exercise bike and then eat breakfast. Would it be better taking it before I get on the excercise bike or when I have my breakfast?

I suppose taking it in the veening would be useless as you are using less energy then... (well for me anyway).

No, it really is best to take it when you eat ... such as post-workout shake etc.

Would L-carnitinine not mix well with a fat metabolizer (say stacker 2 or hydroxycut)?

How'd you mean by 'mix' you can take them both along side each other with no worries. Sometimes you'll find most fat metabolisers have L-cartinine in anyhow.

I bought some L Carnatine today.

I took three.

Is this going to really help me cut the fat off my body?

Is it safe for me as a female?

I see it's okay to use with Stacker 2, which I do take. That's good.

I split it up so that I take one with my breakfast, one with my lunch, and one with my preworkout protein bar.

Anyone have advice for me?

I just read the back of my ephedrine free Xenadrine and it says it contains L-Carnitine, but it doesnt show the dosage as it is listed under "other ingredients." Should one take L-Carnitine tablets with Xenadrine?
btw L-Carnitine is an amino acid correct? So what gives it its metabolizing effects?

It helps with metabolism of fats, however its not gonna do the cutting for you. It is simply an aid for you to help utilize the energy from fats and carbs. I've been taking Acetyl L-Carnitine, and it helps normalize my blood sugar along with ALA and chromium. This trio of minerals should be a part of everyone's diet.
